Biography

Dov Rosenschein

In 2001 I moved to New York City to get my Bachelor's degree in Composition from the Mannes College of Music. I earned the degree in 2003. Since then I have been writing a wide variety of music in almost all genres. In 2007 I moved to Boston and began focusing on a number of larger projects. One of these was an opera, Der Mashgiahs Meshüges ("The Supervisor's Madness"), which I completed in 2012. Another main project was a number of pieces featuring the arpeggione, a once obsolescent instrument which I hope can enjoy a revival (with the help of my music). One of these pieces, a suite for solo arpeggione, was premiered at the Belaggio Music Festival in Italy in 2011. In 2012 I also began taking classes again at the New England Conservatory of Music, and I am trying to get a doctorate in conducting.
